CARS Christmas Lunch on Saturaday, 3rd December 2011.
CARS organised its traditional Christmas Lunch for paid-up Members and invited guests at the Lodge Country Inn, near Battelesbridge meeting from 12 noon for 12.30pm for the meal.

The Ducks by the Pond at Lodge Country Inn
Photo by Murray, G6JYBIt was held on a nice day which meant the countryside around looked very much better than a city setting. The fact that there was no snow was appreciated by the 41 persons who attended as last year at this time the Inn was isolated. We were accommadated in the nice Conservatory and on our own - tables set out in a manner which suited all. Snow fell in the morning but in Cumbria!

Photos by John, G8DETA number of Members used their SatNav to find the Inn and it took them to the back lane without any trouble - one Member went to South Woodham Ferrers twice before he found it but got there in good time in the end.
Two Members came 62 miles while another two came 52 miles - what support.

CARS Members enjoying the LunchStarters were served exactly at 12.30pm and were so large a few said "That was a nice meal - I could now have a doze".
The Main Couse was duly served to be followed by Sweet - then Mince Pies, Tea/Coffee and Mints.
Members added Prizes to the Grand Raffle Draw which was preformed by Luke, M6LNT. £77 was raised which will go to Charity. A wipe-round produced a pot of money which was presented to Paula for "The Staff".
All thought we were well looked after and suggestions were made "Book it again for next year".
Thanks to Val and Martyn, G1EFL for organising the event and producing the lovely ticket with a reminder of "what you had ordered" on it.
