In the run up to Xmas, W&S our local emporium had an Open/Operating Day. The event saw local groups including CARS Training, Essex Repeater Group, Essex CW Club and ThamesARG at Hockley on the Saturday.
Setting up started with early morning breakfast across the road on Saturday morning. The day saw relatively mild weather, and whilst it was quiet with respect to customers, it proved to be a very sociable event for all present. G0PEP, the W&S club call, was put to use with some excellent DX via an Elecraft K3S.

Footnote: Shortly after the event, W&S confirmed their departure from Hockley with the announcement of "International Ham Stores Group" which sees three of the UKs leading Ham Radio retailers and manufacturers have come together (W&S, Nevada and Innovantennas) to operate from a combined showroom and distribution centre at Portsmouth from April 2017.
