Danbury Village Hall"CARS AGM"
By CARS MembersThe 2023 CARS Annual General Meeting took place on Tuesday 4th October at Danbury Village Hall. Proceedings started with the annual reports from the Club's officers:-
The Silent Keys of Ken Dews G3PMW, David Bolwell G3JCM, and Geoff Lovegrove G7KLV were noted.
- Treasurer John Roe G4IMS - Our net outlay was £1480 but balances remain healthy
- Membership Andrew Kersey G0IBN - 91 members; 73 paid, 18 honorary
- QSL Manager Paul Tittensor G4PVM - 3 Special Events operated, plus Danbury Open Day
- Training John O'Connell M0JOC - four successful courses and Brickworks
- Equipment David Ingrey M0HBV - a new projector and ongoing sorting of surplus kit
- Chairman Elliot Riddle M0JBY
President Tony G4YTG then gave his own remarks as the old committee stood down, and oversaw the quick election of the new one. Tony announced he was retiring too, and was warmly thanked by all.
- Good News: The membership subs have been held at just £5/pa and are now due
- Bad News: We remain short of volunteers and vacant positions need to be filled!

Post Meeting Note: CARS New President - John G8DET
Following the retirement of Tony Gilbey G4YTG...
The committee is pleased to announce that John Bowen G8DET has accepted the honorary role of CARS President. John has previously been CARS Chairman and Vice President.

Danbury Vilage Hall"Build A Radio Night"
By CARS MembersThe November meeting had a practical theme. Attendees got the chance to build a free radio on the night.
We had a number of Kanga FM Radio kits to build on the night. These have good sensitivity, with touch button tuning and audio volume. Soldering and assembly proved to be quite easy and we had an audio amp/speaker on hand to listen to the result.
It wasn’t all work, as many also turned up just for a natter and refreshments.

Danbury Village Hall"Xmas Social"
By CARS MembersThe CARS December meeting was our Xmas Social. CARS members, as well as other amateurs/clubs were welcome to join us for our Xmas Social at Danbury.
On offer were all sorts of nibbles, assisted by volunteers helped in the kitchen. The event included some special raffle prizes, whilst John M0JOC ran a seasonal quiz on a laptop and projector screen. All very enjoyable!
