Essex Activity Night - Feb-2020

Monday evening, 7pm February 17th 2020, was Essex Activity Night, hosted by CARS. This is the first in a new series that succeed our long running Skills nights.

Following several successful years of running Essex Skills Night, the latest incarnation from the refreshed CARS team has been rebranded from Skills, to Activity Nights.

The usual venue and timing are being retained on the third Monday in the month at Danbury Village Hall. The first Activity Night on Monday 17th February saw a good turn out for a mix of activities and socialising.

EssexCW had both Morse and N1MM+ logging demos. Ian Duxbury M0LZI brought Wires-X, Tom 2E0EUM had connectors & patch leads - and we all had plenty of tea coffee and chat! Our thanks also to the kitchen team!

Attendees on the first Activity Night

Essex CW tables included hands-on radio and a Morse Machine

Ian M0LZI with a Wires-X contact from Ricky WA0UAY in Idaho

Tom with David M1DCJ – and Murray G6JYB, Trevor M5AKA et al having tea & chat

Future Activity & Social Nights:-

  • Monday March 16th - Cancelled due to Coranvirus
  • Monday April 20th - Cancelled due to Coranvirus

We are looking for fresh demos, but you can also have a small table if you have some surplus to recycle! So if you want to get hands on or offer a demo of your own – make it a date and get in touch – or just pop along for what is always a good social occasion too

It does not matter whether you are a club member, or from other clubs, not licensed, or just interested - All are Welcome, and it is Free!

Refreshments - as always are on offer, thanks to our team in the kitchen.
Please donate - Donations are gratefully received to help cover the room hire.

Contacts: Ian Duxbury M0LZI, along with John M0JOC and Andy G0IBN

    Notes:
Do come and tell us what you would like to see...

We are here to help, you ask what you need to know.
NO question is a silly question!. We have all been there, just ask!

These evenings do not happen by themselves, so we are open to offers for demos etc from both CARS members and other clubs/amateurs.

If you want a table for a demo do email us beforehand and we will fit you in.

As always, various members of CARS, and other local groups/clubs will be on hand to help with questions, as well as volunteers in the kitchen doing the tea/coffee and nibbles.

Venue: Danbury Village Hall, CM3 4NQ

Entrance is free, and the event is open to all. Tea/coffee is also available.
