Essex Skills Night - May-2019 |
Monday evening, 7pm May 20th 2019, was Essex Skills Night, run by the CARS Training Team. It was the last one ahead of the June tabletop sale and the summer break. Radio and practical demos were supported by club members and Essex CW. The club table was welcoming arrivals and had a selection of bargains as part of a mini-tabletop sale. Foundation and Intermediate Practicals were underway in the Hawkins Room, whilst Morse Appreciation was available from Rob M0KCP of Essex CW Club.Some of the Activities:-
The evening rounded off by another fun quiz from Murray G6JYB. 
Assembling coax patch leads – and some relaxed chit chat
Practicals: Foundation-HF with Richard G7OED and Intermediate
Essex CW (Rob M0KCP et al) - and Tom Mann 2E0EUM wins the raffle prizeA big thank-you to the kitchen team for tea, coffee and some really nice cake!.

NO question is silly question!. We have all been there, just ask?Skills does not happen by itself, so we are open to offers for demos etc from both CARS members and other clubs/amateurs.
If you want a table for a demo do email us beforehand and we will fit you in.
Skills is a great opportunity to get "hands-on" with aerials, datamodes, construction, our famous Quiz and more. A variety of "show and tell" tables with something for the new and experienced Ham alike.
As always, various members of CARS, and other local groups/clubs will be on hand to help with questions, as well as volunteers in the kitchen doing the tea/coffee and nibbles.

Skills Night takes place at the Danbury Village Hall – Entrance is free, and the event is open to all. Tea/coffee is also available.
